About the event

Nothing is Real started out in 2012 when Beatles fanatics Jon Rose, Sam Whimpenny and Simon Meader got together for a "one off" concert at the old Underground Theatre in Eastbourne after recruiting three other musician friends Paul Potton, Bob Turner and Tim Izzard. Tim left the band a

couple of years ago to pursue his love of Bowie music and he's been replaced on drums by Paul Brewer. 12 years on we're still going and playing gigs for charities only. That is our ethos. We only ever play for charity and we're proud to say that we've raised over £17,000 in those 12 years for a whole host of worthy causes.

Despite our youthful looks we can't hope to look like the fab four so rather than call ourselves a tribute band we are advertised as a Beatles'; covers band and we have played many times at Rushlake Green, both in the Dunn Village Hall and on the green, including last year where we played every

Beatles song from 1963 including the whole of the albums Please Please Me and With the Beatles. We are continuing this 60th anniversary trend by this year playing every 1964 Beatles song.

We hope that everyone from the village (which after all was the home of Brian Epstein the Beatles'; manager for a few months in 1967) can come along to support and and wallow in nostalgia for 1964 when the world was still black and white but the music was colourful.
